MINUTES 2 January 2020

The meeting opened at 1843 with 10 members present. Sgt-at-Arms Kiernan posted the colours and led us in the Pledge of Allegiance and Chaplain Westover led us in prayer. All officers were present. There was 1 application for membership Dennis Mitchell applied, was voted in, and was sworn in by Commandant Dumont. The minutes of the last and Bill Kiernan made the motion to accept the minutes, seconded by Reggie LaClair, and was carried. Under correspondence, thank you notes were read from Friendly Kitchen, Warner and Bradford Food Pantries for our donations. Also read were letters from Young Marines National and “Woody” Hershal Foundation requesting donations. Mark Lindsley made the motion to donate $25.00 to each of these organizations. The motion was seconded and passed. Commandant Dumont read an e mail he received concerning the passing of SgtMaj J. Mulhorn. The paymasters report was presented and Reggie LaClair made the motion to accept and it was seconded by Bill Kiernan. The motioned passed. There were no reimbursements. Under sick and in distress, Commandant Dumont mentioned Charlie was continuing to have health problems. Mark Lindsley had attempted to contact Bud Durling with no success. Dave Winters reported Dan Fedor hurt his back. Chaplain was directed to send out get well cards. Under Report of Officers, Mark Lindsley reported he had ordered the M-1 to be used for this years raffle. Commandant Dumont stated he will have Print Shop do the flyers for the promotion. Dave Winters reiterated his availability to assist Marines in various endeavors. He was continuing to donate his time and funds to Friendly Kitchen. Chaplain Westover reported on the death of one of our members, Frederick “Tad” Comstock and his and Adjutant Harnish’s attendance at the wake. He also reported on the passing of former National Commandant Gore. As Toys for Tots coordinator he updated the detachment on toys collected. Under upcoming events: On the 18th is the breakfast in Bradford, Commandant Dumont is checking with the recruiters for their input on a possible Poole event. Also a dinner/get together around Valentine’s Day to honour our spouses. Further details will be made available at the February meeting. Under unfinished business was the discussion of repairs to be done on the trailers. There being no further business, the closing ceremony was conducted as the Sgt-at-Arms retired the colours, the Chaplain led us in prayer and the Senior Vice provided the closing comments. Next months meal is to be provided by Dave Winters with Mark Lindsley providing the desert. The next meeting will be held on 6 February 2020, The meeting closed at 1953.
