- Opening Ceremony: Sgt/Arms Bill Kiernan opened the meeting at 1847 and opening prayer was given by Chaplain Mike Harnish. There were 11 Detachment Members present.
- Roll Call of Officers: Sr Vice Mike Standafer, Jr Vice Steve Opett, and Judge Advocate Liz Shaw were excused. All other officers were present.
- Applications for Membership: None at this time. Cmdt Dumont called the 6-7 names we got at the Kiwanis Fair. He will call them again before the Concord Market Days.
- Minutes from Previous Meeting – 5/4/17 Minutes: Minutes were distributed and reviewed by the membership. Motion made to accept the minutes as presented by Kiernan, duly seconded by Ray DeCorse; there was no discussion; motion passed
- Correspondence:
- Paymaster Report: Report was distributed and reviewed by the membership. Adj/Paymaster Bryan Westover briefed the report. Motion made to accept the report as presented by DeCorse, duly seconded by Je Shea; no discussion; motion passed
- Sick and In Distress: Carol McLaren is recovering from surgery and appreciated the flowers the Cmdt sent her. Liz Shaw is under the weather.
- Report of Officers:
- a) Installation of Jr Vice Cmdt – Tabled.
- b) Recent events:
- i) Kiwanis Fair – Many Det Members helped-thanks to all; collected $75 in donations; and 6-8 names of potential Members. Unfortunately the fair had a low turnout.
- ii) Flags at Blossom Hill Cemetery, Concord – Mark Lindsley represented the Det. Shea replaced the 2 Marine Corps flags at monuments in Concord. (USMC Flags reimbursement pending).
iii) Flags at Bow Cemeteries – Westover worked with Bow Boy Scouts; went well.
- iv) Concord Memorial Day Parade – Color Guard (Standafer, Harnish, Dumont, & Westover); Float – Noel; Decorated Truck – Kiernan.
- v) Bow Memorial Day Ceremony – Rain moved event indoors. Firing Detail was ready but not used.
- vi) Memorial Day Ceremony at Boscawen Veterans Cemetery – Firing Detail (Lindsley, Shea, Dumont, Harnish); other Members helped or were present.

- Scheduled and Pending Events: The below items were discussed:
- June 17 – Fred Osgood’s funeral, East Cemetery, Concord at 11:00 AM. His son has requested a firing detail. Lindsley, Shea, Harnish volunteered, Kiernan possible.
- June 22 – 24 – Concord Market Days, downtown Concord. Booth/tent for all 3 days. Dunk tank on Saturday only. Shirt and lapel pins for sale and recruiting event. Members asked to help with this event.
- July 4 – Andover Parade – float, color guard, Cmdt offered his T-Bird to ride in and asked for volunteers. More info in a future email.
- July 8 – Newbury Old Home Day (Color Guard for parade)
- July 22 – Pittsfield Old Home Day (Color Guard for parade and booth)
- August 12 – Loudon Old Home Day (Color Guard for parade & booth)
- August 19 – Poolee Family Event – Elm Brook Park (Site #4) – Motion made to reimburse Westover $40 for site reservation fee by DeCorse, seconded by ReggieL LaClair; there was no discussion; motion passed There is $350 in funds available for food. Flyers advertising the event to be distributed to VFWs and American Legions in the area, as well as Recruiters and Poolees.
- August 26 – Sunapee Cruise – Fun night with Leaguers and Car Club. $37 per person. Payment to Cmdt by the August meeting
- Sept 1-4 – Hopkinton Fair – Tentative; Pending outcome of Concord Market Days fundraising – estimated cost is $525.00
- Sept 9 – Kiwanis Club Car Show @ NHTI, Concord (booth) OR
- OR Sept 9 – Danbury Old Home Day
- Sept 28 – Oct 1- Deerfield Fair – Cmdt is coordinating with other Detachment to split the time. Cmdt can do all days except Oct 1st; Westover will cover Oct 1st. Cmdt will check for any costs.
- TBD – Uno’s Pizza Fundraiser. Cmdt will fill out application.
- Other Events and Activities
- Bowling – Boutwell’s Bowling Center, Concord – a fall date to be determined.
- Recruiting Dinner at locations TBD, outside Concord area.
- Attend future Poolee Meetings, Thursdays at 5:00 PM, Marine Recruiting Office, Loudon Rd, Concord – All are welcome to attend and share your knowledge.
- M-1 Fundraiser Committee’s Status Report – AR-15A2 rifle to be raffled off instead. Lindsley will donate a $150 receiver and trigger group. Will need $250 for remainder of parts. He will secure a spot at the September gun show.

- Color Guard Training – practice dates to be discussed after the meeting.
- New Business
- Car Show Fund Raising – Cmdt Dumont briefed an opportunity to host a car show and explained how to do it and how profits are made. Motion made to have more details and discuss at next meeting by Kiernan, seconded by Lindsley; there was no further discussion; motion passed.
- Good of the League
- Awards/Presentations: LeClair was presented his Membership Pin.
- Kiernan to make next month’s (July 6th) meal, and Donna Melanson to bring dessert.
