- Opening Ceremony: Sgt/Arms Bill Kiernan opened the meeting at 1858 and opening prayer was given by Chaplain Mike Harnish. There were 13 Detachment Members present.
- Roll Call of Officers: Jr Vice Steve Opett was excused and Sr. Vice Mike Standafer was absent. All other officers were present.

- Minutes from Previous Meeting -7/6/17 Minutes: Minutes were distributed and reviewed by the membership. Motion made to accept the minutes as presented by Kiernan, duly seconded by Bob Selig; there was a correction made; motion passed unanimously to accept the minutes as edited.

- Email from Dept of NH 8/1/17 Memo: discussed A) National will no longer send dues notices, B) Dept NH bylaw change proposed for fundraising outside area of responsibility, C) Ash-Risley Det to disband, D) 2018 Quad State Convention in Burlington, VT.
- b) Dreams for Marines Golf Tournament fundraiser: After a lengthy discussion and confirmation of a sign showing our sponsorship of a hole, motion made $250 by Judge Advocate Liz Shaw, duly seconded by Mark Lindsley; there was no discussion; motion passed .
- Paymaster Report: Report was distributed and reviewed. Adj/Paymaster Bryan Westover briefed the report. Motion made to accept the report as presented by Reggie LaClair, duly seconded by Kiernan; Discussion consisted of Poolee funds and researching a form to provide benefactors for their “tax deductible” donations; motion passed
- Sick and In Distress: Joe Shea recovering from surgery – Chaplain to send get well card.

i) July 8, Sat – Newbury Old Home Day (booth): Cmdt Dumont met more Marines and added names to the recruiting list. Bob Selig to research a group called the “Kearsarge Marines” from that area.
ii) July 22, Sat – Pittsfield Old Home Day (parade and booth): Bill Kiernan and his wife towed the float; there was no color guard; Lindsley, Harnish & Cmdt Dumont manned the booth = sold a couple of raffle tickets and a pin; no Marine contacts made.

- August 12, Sat – Loudon Old Home Day (parade @ 10AM & booth): Kiernan to (potentially) tow the float; color guard to be LaClair, Harnish, Westover & Dumon. Opening Ceremonies at 11:00 AM. Others asked to man the booth.
- August 19, Sat @ 10AM – Poolee Family Event – Elm Brook Park (Site #4) – All Hands On Deck, this is our big event for the year – Poolees/Recruiting/Fun/ Families! Expect ~50 Poolees and families plus others from the 120 flyers handed out. Prep work Friday at Cmdt’s house; Westover to coordinate games/activities but needs help from Det Members; Cmdt will man the grill.
- August 26, Sat – Sunapee Cruise – Fun event for Members. Event may be cancelled – Cmdt will confirm next week.
- Sept 9 (Sat)– Kiwanis Club Car Show @ NHTI, Concord: May not have booth.
- OR Sept 9 – Danbury Old Home Day – No word back from them; Detachment Members opted not to participate.
- Sept 9 & 10 (Sat & Sun) – Everett Arena Gun Show – Lindsley reserved tble to sell raffle tickets, volunteers needed – MCL uniform preferred or MCL polo shirt and khakis.
- Sept 28 – Oct 1 (Thurs-Sun) Deerfield Fair – Cmdt can do all days except Oct 1st; Westover will cover Oct 1st: No word back yet from fair.

- Attend future Poolee Meetings, Thursdays at 5:00 PM, Marine Recruiting Office, Loudon Rd, Concord – Invitation is always open to us to attend.
- AR-15A2 Fundraiser Committee’s Status Report –Lindsley reported that the 500 tickets cost $85, gun show table is $75; $212 needed for additional parts; ticket costs are 1 for $10 or 3 for $20; he’ll keep 440 on hand for change; $230 in ticket sales so far.

Detachment Shirts: were paid for by the Det. Members to reimburse Det for the shirts they ordered. Costs are: S-XL $31.50, XXL $33.75, 3X-4X $36.25. Not discussed.
Color Guard Training – TBD.
Repair of trailer for float: Standafer and Opett to work on repairs/welding.

Carol Delbridge-McLaren took this opportunity to thank everyone for the flowers while she was in the hospital

- Announcements
- Department Meeting (1100) & Growl (1400) – September 24, 2017 @ American Legion, Concord: Cmdt encouraged Members to attend and to vote on the bylaw change for fundraising procedures.
- August 7th is Purple Heart Day.
- October 5th – 8th the Vietnam Moving Wall will be at the UNH campus courtesy of the VFW.
- Closing Ceremony conducted; next meeting August 3, 2017. The meeting closed at 2038.
